Measurements are very important to our world because they are the basis for many, many things. We wouldn't have planes, rockets, elevators, cars, cellphones, and other gadgets, if we didn't.

Our front door would slightly be tilted if it were not for measurements. Medically speaking, we would have no way to give the right amount or dosage to a patient. In short, everything would be unexact, and disproportionate! Oh, what an ugly world that would be!

Lastly, it is a universal language. The SI and British system of units being 'international', can be understood in the whole wide world. We can communicate in terms of measurement, how much, how many, how long, how short, how often, how fast. It's pretty useful. Progress can't really do without it.

Hope this helps!

Say you have a shelf you want to fill with books. Without measuring them you don't know if they will fit or not.

Same thing with a house. How do you know it will fit on your property if you don't measure?

Or when you cook, how do you know how much of each ingredient if you don't measure them to follow the recipe?
