I went in only above my ankles.
We went to Los Angeles before Christmas one year and I went in the water just to say I was in the Pacific ocean.

Honestly, I have this fear that if I go much further into the ocean, some weird sea creature might pull me down and have me for a snack. :-)

the water is too cold and lots off green stuff in the water and it is very stcky and lots off dead bodys around

because of what's in there....sharks....depends on the beach and what you can see in the water...
