Are they really going to make a movie of the stargate series?

Yes! "Ark of Truth" is due out early 2008 and will wrap up the Ori storyline. "Continuum" is due out later in the year (both direct to DVD movies), and features Ba'al messing with the time line (and has Richard Dean Anderson, too).

Yes. The first is called Stargate The Ark Of Truth and resolves the Ori storyline. The team goes to the Ori galaxy, finds a brainwashing device and has to decide whether or not to use it. It comes out straight to DVD spring 2008. The second is called Stargate Continuum and is a time travel story. It has Jack O'Neill, the Tok'ra, and the System Lords. It comes out straight to DVD fall 2008. If the two movies are successful and sell well, they will probably release one or two new movies a year.

Yes, They're planning on several, The first has already begun filming, its supposed to wrap up the Ori storyline, the second will be a Time travel story with Baal as the badguy, All due out strait to DVD but you'll probably get to see them on the sci-fi channel before. Based on the dvd sales they "producers and wrighters" want to release at least 8 movies, 2 per year, making a Stargate SG1 franchise of featurefilms. Check out Gateworld.net for more info.
