and that african americans should be able to mary who they want, vote, get tax benefits, have children, get estate benefits, get hospital visitation rights for their spouce, get decision making rights for their spouce. Very few people would dissagree with this correct? And that it is inhumane, unjust and wrong to deny them these benefits based upon their color?

Why is it still acceptable to deny these rights to Homosexuals. They are our brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends. They work in every business but still struggle for the same benefits that everyone else enjoyes and takes for granted. Why is this acceptable?

i'm straight & black and i use this same analogy when i encounter homophobes. if you are a woman, you have experienced discrimination and had laws invoked that restricted your rights. if you are black, you have faced discrimination and had laws invoked that restricted your rights. so, how can you be in favor of denying someone else rights? no matter how many times i mention this to my half-black/half-filipino best friend, she still says that something is wrong about gays marrying. even though a few decades ago her parents wouldn't have been able to marry. some people don't form opinions based on logical, but instead on feeling & emotion. sad...

This is a very good question! Personally, I don't believe the Holy Spirit inspired people to form different denominations. The reason I don't believe that is because He would never tell someone to do something that He knew would result in divisions within the body of Christ. One has only to read Acts 2:41-47 to understand what the Holy Spirit's intentiions were from the beginning. God bless!!!

It's not acceptable, but society is slow in making changes. Sometimes things just take time...I'm not saying its right, LGBT people should have the same rights as everyone else, but some people are just slow to catch on. Look at how long it took for black people to gain equal rights...and even today there is still racism...so I think it will take some time, but one day we will have our equal rights.

In my opinion, what you are talking about has nothing to do with being black. If someone is gay it is a totally different situation. What your referring too is the same sex getting married etc. What does black people have to do with the fact that a person is gay. I have nothing againsts gay people however, I know a few gay people and they make it seem like like being straight is a sickness. I wonder why, they act that way. I am not referring to all gay people, just the ones I know.

These rights are not denied to homosexuals. They are denied to everyone who lives with someone of the same gender, given to everyone who marries someone of the other gender. No one says you can't have these rights just because you're gay.

I don't believe gvmt should have any say towards marriage. This is for the individuals to determine.

However until then, have a will, living will, durable power of attorney so your intentions are known if you can't speak for yourself.

All blacks have the same rights as whites, they dont want to be equal they want to be above and treated better, because there ancesters were slaves and w/e, there were white slaves AND there own people sold them to our ancerters, not US, plus i think they are treated failry enuf as are whites and im not racist im just putting fact out there, but yeh GLBT people should have the same rights as EVERONE else.
