Harriet Castor? She was about 12 when she wrote 'Fat Puss'. There are 2 or 3 other books too, really good books for young readers who are getting a bit of confidence.

Jane Austen wrote a book of her view of history when she was about 10. It was intended just for her family, but is available now at her museum in Bath, England.

Jason Gaes at the age of 8. It was a book about his cancer because he believed other children should know what he's going through so that it would help them. Cute kid.
