I've often thought I was born too late. If I could,I'd go back to the 40's. I'd be back in Philadelphia in the area I did go grow up in,but I would have been born during the 30's and just coming of age in the 40's. We very seldom had to worry about crime. People could go out at night and not have to think about being shot in a drive-by. People kept their property clean without being asked or ordered. School really taught something. No nonsense was allowed. Not everyone had a car and you really didnt need one to get around. Pretty much everyone rode the bus or trolley or subway. There was no graffitti and even the buses were clean. No one bombarded you with boom boxes and Heaven forbid-there were no fast food places. We could burn our leaves in the fall and enjoy the smell that is like no other. I'd better stop now because I know those years will never return. We're way too smart now arent we?

Yes. I often wish I was able to experience the later parts of the Great Depression and WWII. It was a time when the entire country came together to defeat an enemy that wanted to control the world and the era seems rather exciting, though I realize it could be quite difficult and painful.

When I was younger I loved reading Anne of Green Gables. When the show came out I soaked up all the wonderful imagery of the period (Being a bookish freckled girl in and out of homes myself I identified with her character!) Plus the ladies fashions at the turn of the century times were so graceful...and the manners, and.... ahhh, I wish I had a time machine!!!

yes! definately ...

i am not sure which era i would like to live in, but i would love to live in a time where good still conquers evil ... (i guess that is a fantasy world)
but this world gets me down! it's a very strange, nagative sometimes monstrous place to be living in ...

gives me chills just thinking about it!

i guess there's always been evil, but now we just hear more about it coz of the media.

Hell no. Living in any other time period would make things so freakin harder. No toilet? No shower? No toothbrush? But!!! I would like to have seen Jesus Christ... That would have been interesting... And also.. If i truly wanted world domination, i would go to the era of Alexander the great... And kill him.. And Darius... Then i control the world!! With my person/greek/other countries ARmy!! LOOOL XD

I would love to have grown up in the United States in the 60s. I know there were a lot of scary things going on then, and there was a lot of racism, sexism, and homophobia, not to mention the war in Vietnam, but the youth back then was so much more open. There was so much going on, and people actually CARED about what was going on in the world and tried to CHANGE it.

specific. I believe you. yet i enjoyed the 90s. it basically seems soo a lot distinctive now, even from then. i think of it would be cool to be waiting to pass to the 50s just to work out what it incredibly grow to be like.* ?
