It's one of the most honest dishonest relationships i've ever noticed in a movie..

She is not afraid to talk to her father about anything, she even tells him when she first has sex.. She takes care of him better than he takes care of himself, she knows his health issues and tries to make him do what needs to be done.. and yet.. at the same time this one HUGE piece of his life is a fraud.. as I recall he was being investigated.. and is thrown in jail.. at least that's what I remember.. (Note: I have not watched this in years, so this may be off a bit... but I see these scenes in my head)
