Hmmm....I can't say that this has happened to me in your exact context, but, I have tried on jeans and they fit almost perfectly, but are 2 or 3 sizes too big in the waist and thighs. But smaller sizes aren't long enough for my legs. It's really frustrating! Really, it's the retailors. I've been buying the jeans that are long enough, and have them tailored to fit me. It makes a big difference in the fit. Only problem is people look at the tags and say "I thought you wear a size 1! If I would have known that, I wouldn't have bought you those jeans for your birthday. Looks like I'm getting 5's for you from now on..." Ugh.

I have a hard time buying jeans as well, I have a big butt, a small waist and for some reason all the jeans that fit well are way too long.
It's hard to find a pair of jeans that fit really well, but I have found a few. Usually Seven For All Mankind.

Consider finding a good tailor and buying your jeans in a size 2, then have them altered to fit your body.
I have the opposite problem, I wear a size 2, and although they fit around the waist and legs, I have a problem filling out the butt. Feel free to pass me some of that junk in your trunk!

I got that same problem... It really sucks cuz I can only find jeans that fit right once in a blue moon. Well if you got the money to buy jeans that are a lil more expensive then you could try brands that are designed for your body shape, like Apple Bottoms or something. If not, then I guess just keep looking... Good luck

If the jeans do not fit over your butt, then they do not fit. You need a bigger size and a belt.
Very, very few people are a "perfect" size. Most people have to modify their clothing in some way or another.

Maybe try going up a size in jeans. A size 3/4 is still respectable.

Yeah, it happens to me. I have a wide waist to hip ratio, so if I do actually find jeans that can go over my butt, then they'll end up being too big around the waist. I always have to wear belts because of that.

i have this problem
umm i just buy what ever fits pretty good around my waist cuz the last thing you want is a loose waist so your pants fall down every five seconds
try buying stretch jeans
my favorite brands a re lucky brand and guess
they fit real nice and i can actually give them over my big butt lol

Actually, I'm not sure, but I have the same problem! You can get a size larger and see if a seamstress or taylor make it a little smaller in the legs once you do so. You can get a belt too. What's your favorite store? =D Hope that helped! PS: I like Hollister.
