Of course there's the Actor's Studio but anywhere else? I'm also looking for the place where students studied with Stella Adler. I wish she was still alive. There are so many teachers that are gone now, that I begin to wonder who are the next best teachers that carry out the legacies of these teachers. ie Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, Stanislavski and many more. Do you think teaching students to be great actors will continue now that some of the best are gone?

The only one of those whom you mention that I would recommend is Meisner, many teachers are teaching his techniques. The rest are frauds. Why? Because they misunderstood Stanislavski and made up their own, grueling ways of teaching that are passe today which is to say they are no longer needed because we have been observing relistic acting for nearly a century. I only recommend The Acting Without Agony Academy in LA and I tolerate Meisner as long as the teacher doesn't think that he the teacher is the great guru master of Meisner today. Many do , you know. Most of today's acting teachers are has been actors who couldn't earn a living at it. You don't need to teach students to be great actors. There are always great actors being born. You can't teach them to be great. Acting is not learned in the classroom. Adler, Strasberg and others have been given too much credit that they did not deserve.

If you think you should be taught by one of these greats you probably have an over inflated idea of your capabilities as an actor. You can learn a lot from somebody who works as a jobbing actor. Most universities and colleges who offer drama courses are wothwhile. It's not about who trained you but about what talent you have and who sees it in you.
