my ex wrote me a 250.00 check but it bounced or the bank returned it to ace cash express,im i responsible to pay for it or is he? can they take legal action on me,if so what can they do to me? now he is in jail for something else so will i be held responsible?please help with some answers

I would say he would as he wrote the check, they took the responsibility

you presented the check to Ace and by doing that, you took responsibility for if it bounces or not. They can, and probably will, take legal action.

You have to pay Ace, and then turn around and sue your ex in civil court for the fees/costs you incurred due to his bad check.

You are the one who got the money from them, so you are the one who is responsible for paying it back. This would be true whether he was in jail or not.

You could file charges against him over the bounced check, but if he's already in jail that's not likely to do much.

if they cashed it, the check writer is responsible...if they come after you for cashing it, then I'll turnaround with my checkbook and got to the mall...yeaaaaa...
