Im not one of the thousands of kids who come on here and say how they want to be an actor/actress. I really need some valueable information. I am 15 and live on the east coast. What would be a good path to follow to get into the business.

One other thing, are theatre and acting close in reseblance? Why?

Audition for your school play, if there is one. Take a theater class at your school, if there is one.

Look in the arts section of your local newspaper or on the website of your local newspaper. Somewhere, local theaters will list auditions for plays. Go and audition for every play that has a part you could play (based on your age and gender).

If there are no parts for you right now, get involved backstage at a local theater. You'll learn about the process and meet people who are involved in theater.

If you have money to spend, you can also take acting classes at a local theater. Usually information about classes will be on a theater's website. Or you can call the theater and ask them to mail you information about classes.

Sorry, I don't understand your question about theater and acting.

Acting is acting. There are different processes to acting but acting in the theatre and on tv or movies is the same thing, even commercials are acting. The best way to try out is to go to every casting call you hear about, no matter what it is for, go to it. Sooner or later you will get a part. hit the local theatre group in your town for a part. Don't take rejection personal, just go to another audition and consider them job interviews. That's how you get a job.
