When people talk about war, they tend to say there was always war and there will always be war. Beyond that there is not much thinking about what we as human beings can do to decrease those deadly conflicts. Other than taking a military response, is there something else that can be done that isn't being done? I would like to hear any innovative ideas.

After 9/11 people here in the US were angry and shocked, how did some of us respond? We went out to the Muslim people living in this country and starting assaulting them. We need to start with ourselves if we are to attain a peaceful world. Yes, there always was war, and always will be. But for normal everyday living we need to promote goodness and understanding. There is a commerical out about 1 person doing a good deed and someone else sees it and in turn also does a good deed, that's what we need more of. the world can be a peaceful place if EVERYONE worked at it not just the military personnel.

The answer is "Education" and I mean by that a different education than the one you obtain at school also different than main stream media. Get a dish network, watch news world wide, then try to make your own opinion. Don't listen to someone who is telling you someone else is bad, just listen to someone who is telling you what happened and that is not the case in our main stream media. When you create your own objective opinion you will find how to say NO! you will understand how important you are and how big difference you make!
Otherwise you will be always the traditional, old fashioned follower who makes nothing but follow!

There are the Biblical ideas of turning the other cheek as setting the good example. Trust is another one... but the problem is that those who don't choose to maintain their own peace don't care about the standards and examples that we wish to convey.
Sometimes you have to spank your children, slap their hand away from the fire... Sometimes you have to go to war in order to get a peace.

Great question. Why can't we all just accept serfdom and quit clinging to outmoded ideas like freedom and civil rights?
We could just dissolve all things military and destroy all weapons. We can all refuse to fight anymore. Then, the last one with an army will eliminate all competition for world domination and we'll have one leader we can all serve.

I say yes. Do what the Muhammad freaks do in the Middle East. Form cells, learn to blow people up, to kill innocents, and then go en masse to the Middle East and wipe out every Muhammad freak that they can find, much like they wipe out every Christian and Jew they can find. Get rid of Muhammad freaks with their Religion of Peace, and then you'll have peace in the Middle East.
