My son LOVED the Gerber Fruit and Veggie Puffs. They are little stars. He especially like the banana ones and the Sweet potato. They disolve in baby's mouth. Also I would dice up carrots and boil them until VERY soft and let him pick them up, also frozen peas boiled and he REALLY loved it when I put shredded cheddar cheese on his tray.

Girl it is time for some stage 3. Also mashed potatoes and green beans.I don't know about saltines. They have chewable food. It's kind of like cheerios but it melts faster. Gerber makes them and they come in a round container. Just start mashing fome veggies up. I'm working on my third child. She is 6 months and she eats mashed potatoes and green beans and mac and cheese. I haven't stopped her baby food though, She eats mostly that.

You could feed her 3rd foods now. They can mash things with their gums. Just make sure the foods are soft. Here's a good site, hope it helps.

Just give her very well cooked soft pieces of whatever you are having. No need to restrict her. She can gum and mash well-cooked frozen veggies, and squishy pieces of chicken, pasta, mashed potatoes, casseroles, you name it.

One really good thing to feed her is plain, ordinary Cheerios. I haven't run into a kid yet that doesn't love them :-)
