Because they think that war=patriotism and pretty much nothing else.

Okay, I am a conservative and a patriot. Exactly what experience, or knowledge do you think you have of me that would indicate otherwise. I happen to have complete faith in and support of the Constitution and all it stands for. I have not advocated, condoned, or engaged in any activity which is contrary to basic human rights. Whose sovereignty have I violated? Iraq? Afghanistan? Iraq violated ceasefire agreements and Afghanistan was harboring terrorists, so cry me a river because I am not losing sleep over removing the despots from either of those countries. I have also served this country faithfully and honorably in the United States Navy, but enough about me.
Exactly what have you done which you consider to be more Patriotic besides spouting clueless generalizations and insults?
scottanthonydavis: That WMD argument is so tired and weak that it's beyond pathetic. We did not need for Bush to tell us that Hussein had WMDs. First, the Democrats kept telling us that through a good part of the nineties and second, he used them against both the Iranians and the Kurds. Honestly state that we didn't find massive stockpiles as reported and I will agree with you, but by presenting the idea that he didn't have them at all makes you the one guilty of believing propaganda.

Well, Bless your little heart . . . we ARE patriotic and do NOT stand against the Founding Father's beliefs, which by the way, have been changed over the past decades so liberals, among other things, can enjoy the violating and persecuting of those of us who are more conservative. And you see, if you were truly patriotic, you would realize that the Founding Fathers desired freedom for all of us. Why do you persecute us for simply living or believing somewhat differently? Is that what the Founding Fathers wanted us to do?
Well, I won't judge you in the way you seem to be judging us.

This is a typical uninformed American spewing the same tired dribble over and over again. Learn to think as an individual. You paint a broad stroke when in the real world, each American thinks in different ways. Some conservatives are back woods, hateful people, some liberals are hatefilled, ignornat lemmings. Stop thinking in group mentality and be an independent thinker. Maybe you will grow a little

You obviously do not know your history...and the Dailykos and Moveon.org are not approved to teach history...
Human Rights: Most of the Founding Father's owned slaves and thought you should only be able to vote if you owned land...so that cuts out the poor whites...
The Constitution: They wrote it, but too many Liberal Judges have been legislating from the bench...now where in the 1st Amendment does it say anything about separating of Church and State (Jefferson said something like that in a letter to a friend) And they though everyone should own a gun...but Liberals want to take that right away...
Sovereignty of other Nations: We attacked French and Spanish Colonies (And took land from them) and attacked Mexico with in 80 years of the independence of America...not to mention what we did to the Indians...
Please learn some history..please...your question makes you look silly...if you are under the age of 15, which you might be because you can not spell (it is spelled Sovereignty ), please pay attention in class...

Amen, brother. I've always believed that there is a sliding scale between security and freedom. The more "secure" you are, the fewer freedoms you have. After all, in the Middle Ages, serfs living in Europe had absolutely no chance of advancement--generation after generation held the same dead-end jobs, just because they had no opportunity to do anything else. They lacked freedom, but their lives were secure--they knew that things would be the same day after day.
The Constitution was based on the concept that all people had freedoms that could not be denied them. It seems like the more the government tries to make us "secure" from all threats, the more they restrict our freedom. Yes, they can follow the doings of anyone they call terrorists, but they can also do it to any of the rest of us. Remember how they were caught wiretapping the phone of the head of Greenpeace? They tried to say he was a threat, because of his position. I wish we could go back to the days when our government didn't stop five-year-old boys from boarding airplanes because someone SUSPECTED of being a terrorist had the same name. And yes, it's happened.
The problem is that we have a power-hungry cowboy in the White House who doesn't listen to anyone who might tell him what he doesn't want to hear.

Can you first tell us what you think "patriotic" means?
Conservatives have had their "rights" bashed against the fence for years .. I think you need to do some homework first before you speak about how I feel.

You may have a point there! I mean, abortion really cuts against the heart of the constitution! (Oh wait thats a part of liberalism)
A higher taxed socialist regime is certainly what they fought to get rid of. (Oh sorry, liberalism again)
You may not have a point there! If youre going to argue that conservatism violates the institutions you mention, perhaps you may want to state HOW instead of just editorializing and mindlessly slandering.
