compromise is the answer to our political woes in the US, (which means neither side get everything they want ) or should it be a 'to the victors goes the spoils' process?

The later seems to inspire a constant pendulum process.

ak6702 - are you seriously comparing our politicians to Hitler? And Evil? Maybe I don't disagree, but that seems harsh.

Seems like both sides are simply applying "payback" to each other.

We ALL suffer because of this

Compromise all the way. The problem is the religious fanatics and the ultra-libs won't meet on common ground.

It depends on the issue at hand. I am a conservative. I will not compromise on my core values. I try to explain to the uninformed how my beliefs have merit. If they don't accept it, it is their loss.

It sounds nice but it'll never happen. American politicians are just too stubborn.
