It depends on the jack.

I'm assuming since you are referring to 'pressure' that you are talking about a hydraulic jack. It isn't very likely for it to lose pressure, but anything is possible - and you shouldn't ever risk being under a car with any kind of jack - because even if it doesn't lose pressure, the car can still fall off of it.

Always use jack stands - only jack it up on level ground, make sure the parking brake is on, or the wheels are chocked.

Well it doesnt matter because you are using JACK STANDS right?

($15 or so at most auto shops.. and it solves that problem plus the one where you need the jack but it is already holding the car up)

Don't forget the wheel block too.. there is a much more likelyhood of the car rolling OFF the jack then the jack failing.

Anytime you jack up a vehicle with a hydraulic floor jack - theres a risk - the safest way is to use jack stands, ive used chunks of railroad ties underneath the shock mounts/frame to hold my truck up . Anytime jacking a vehicle up should be done on a level surface. If youre without jackstands and absolutely need to do something underneath, either remove the tires and place them under the frame or a rim. Best way is the use of a set of jackstands tho.

I use scissor jacks, concrete blocks and wood to jack up my cars
Axle stands can be used but I prefer not to use them

The hyrdolyic jack is never used to support a car cause your'e relying on seals to keep the pressure
it's used for all the jacking jobs and lifting, always free to move around

Support the car on two places for every wheel removed
That way you'll always be safe

You should never work under a car whilst on a hydraulic jack.
Use the jack to raise the car and then place axle stands under the car to take the weight.
Also make sure the wheels are blocked so the car cannot roll.

Any professional mechanic will tell you that you never go under a car when it is supported solely by jacks. Use jack stands.

you should use a jack stand, not the jack while working under the car.

Not likely if it doesn't do it before you get under. If you would like to live thought I would try jack stands for sure. If you don't have jack stand put you spare under the wheel closest to where your working.

its like randomly getting shot it rarely happens but its possible, but most likely not.
the safiest way is to go by some car stands and rest it on those its alot safer and keeps the car steady.

It's not very likely.
But if it happens, you'll NEVER have to worry about it happening again.

Do the smart thing and stuff something under the car just in case.
