Yes, people like knowing what they will get when they go into a business.
Take a hamburger joint that has a name you don't know, it may be wonderful or awful the burgers maybe be tiny or huge and have toppings you don't know. Near your house you might try it but when out of town you will go to a franchise like McDonalds or Burger King counting on that one being like the one you were at before.
It is the only way for a hamburger joint to grow past 2-3 outlets.
