I'm an 'Aunt', so occasionally baby sit for a couple of hours or half a day maximum. I'ts really good fun, BUT.....I have to admit I'm completely shattered after it!
I know, (without trying to sound naff!), it's for the love you have for your children that you do all you do, and still keep standing!
But HOW? Where do you find the energy? Especially if you work too?
I now appreciate (from an Aunt's eyes), how much my own parents and every other parent did/does for their children! I hope yours realise!
I admire you all. BIG pat on the back and a massive HUG for you all! : )

You have to attempt to be organized and have some discipline as well. I have tow "kids", ages 34 and 30 and I baby sit four days a week for my three granddaughters, 12, 5, and 2 and it doesn't get any easier. Whole new set of problems with the younger bunch. I love doing it, though. Thanks for the hug! I always appreciate them!

well the difference between being the aunt and the parent is the need to "please" the child all the time...
It's a full time job for sure, but most parents don't spend the whole day watching the child's every move and trying to entertain them, as they usually have a safe place for the child to play alone or at least supervised from afar. It's a big difference. I have a 9 year old son, his father passed when he was 3, i've never had any trouble. But when I babysit my friends kids, they seem like a handful, because I have to be with them all the time.
But i do appreciate the kudos...its definitely work, but it's worth it :)

I have 4 children, Thank God now grown, I think the way we do it has to be because we love them because I can't imagine doing it again and wonder how I did it the first time. I worked the entire time they were still at home and I must admit, raising my children was harder than any job I ever had but it was very fulfilling.

I have two girls 9 and 5 and both my wife and I have successful full time careers and raising children is the hardest most gratifying thing in the world. It can be draining some days but my wife and I can always find the energy to raise them right. It is exhausting though.

Thanks for the compliment!!!
My friend was babysitting her friends kid and my son is friends with the little girl so we got together and took the kids to the park to play. We were walking back to the house when my friend said I couldnt imagine doing this everyday. I was like I do it and you just get used to being a parent. I think its different when the kid is actually yours.
Until recently I never realized how hard it is to be a single parent. Now that I am, I totally have much respect for the single parent. Parents dont get sick days. Its hard at times but I couldnt imagine my life with out my son. I love him and he makes my day.

It's hard but I manage. I'm a stay at home mom. I feel like going nuts some days but we deal with each other. I think we all appreciate our parents more when we have our own children. Thanks for the kind words it's nice to hear!

It is overwhelming in the beginning.... I'm a step-parent to 4 kids. And in the beginning in used to wear me to the bone! But, like anything else you do repetively, you just get better at it the more you do it. And when you add the love part into it? It's even easier (except when you want to throttle them!)!
And hugs back to you!

I am a parent of two and I just "suck it up" as often as it's necessary.
Yes, it is a privilege to be a "mom" but my reward comes when they are "peacefully" sleeping and I pour myself a nice glass of red wine at night, when nobody is awake, when the word "mommy" doesn't come along!

It is exhausting but it can be fun. They make you keep moving. At least they have to go to bed early, then I can have a beer & hang out quietly
