Holy Poo! I have to admit Dubya did a good deed.

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration imposed economic sanctions against senior officials of Myanmar on Thursday, condemning the military-run government's crackdown on protesters.

The Treasury Department announced the sanctions against 14 senior officials of Myanmar, also known as Burma.

"The world is watching the people of Burma take to the streets to demand their freedom, and the American people stand in solidarity with these brave individuals," President Bush said in a statement.

"We feel admiration and compassion for the monks and peaceful protesters calling for democracy," Bush said. "Every civilized nation has a responsibility to stand up for people suffering under a brutal military regime like the one that has ruled Burma for too long."

It's odd too, because Americans have been long concerned with Darfur and yet nothing is done. Virtually no one cared about Myanmar until Bush said something at the UN, and now something is being done.

He did it because it is the responsible thing to do and he is a good president, despite the unpopularity of the war in Iraq.

+Now, change the quote at the end to read "Every civilized nation has a responsibility to stand up for people suffering under a brutal military regime like the one that has ruled IRAQ for too long." and see what kind of response this question gets.

Another good deed by President Bush:

Today,President Bush signed into law a bill that makes college education more affordable for middle and low income students.

You have to look like a good guy some of the time when you're attempting to erase national sovereignty in America by promoting illegal invasion amnesty while paying the way for both the North American Union and a one world government where your vote will fail to count at all.

Ever wonder why Pres. Bushshit agrees with liberals on this issue?

I suppose that Bush & Co. can afford to impose economic sanctions against Myanmar, since Myanmar wouldn't make a powerful enemy.

Yes but sadly the good deed was to show off in front of other countries, sadly to take the focus off of Iraq. Peace! I wait for the day when a Monk says those words to him about Iraq.
