Whats a whack?

It comes indirectly from "whack", meaning a blow. And "wacky" meant acting as if you'd been hit in the head. In the 18th century, "whack" started being used in thieve's lingo, meaning a share of the loot, and from that it meant to mean an expectation. So, if something was "out of whack", it was outside of the agreement or expectation or alignment.

The word has many meanings and each is used for different things. Out of whack just means not feeling yourself or something not working the way it is supposed to.

I prefer to think of whack as a slap and there is no way anyone is getting out of that. lol

The meaning of what is: Improperly ordered or balanced; not functioning correctly. So for something to be out of balanced or out of order!!
