First, let's figure out the area to be sodded (the area of the courtyard).
60 ft x 50 ft = 3000 square feet.

Now, the are of each roll of sod:
1 ft x 3 ft = 3 square feet.

To find out how many rolls we need, we need to divide the area of the courtyard by the area of each roll:

(60 ft. x 50 ft.) / (3 ft. x 1ft.) = (60 x 50) / 3

Of the answers given, "b" is the best one.

You need to find the area of the courtyard:

Length X width

Each of the rolls of sod will fill a specified amount of area as well:
Length_of_sod X width_of_sod

Then divide the total area of the courtyard by the area that each roll of sod can cover.

The question is asking for area for the court yard, it's 60 x 50
and the sod's area is 3x1= 3
Therefore the area of the courtyard is (60x50)/ 3 the three is the sq ft of the sod.
So you answer is
C.

Answer is B

think of this as "How many times does small area fit inside big area? (IE big area divided by small area)"
small area = 3' x 1'
big area = 60' x 50'
60 x 50 (divided by) 3 x 1 is the same as 60 x 50 divided by 3 ... Answer B
