Be careful, it can be. It's a love affair of the heart. You are giving more of yourself when you give emotionally & mentally than when you give physically.

A platonic relationship is nothing more than friendship which would not be cheating. If you have a platonic relationship with someone, you have no reason to hide any involvment with that person from your partner. No secrets.
A relationship that you have with someone that is remotely emotional or sexual, including internet, texts, or phone calls, but you try to justify by saying it is platonic............. is cheating.
In your heart you know if it is cheating.......you don't have to ask.

Technically, no. But depending on the circumstances it may or may not be healthy for the relationship. That's a finer line that you'll need to ask your heart. Is your intent to remain with the letter of the marriage, or the Spirit of Love with which the marriage was born and made sacred? Go to your heart for the answers, and follow the high road. May the Blessings Be.

Cheating is defined as having an extra-marital affair (either physical or emotional...including internet, phone sex, etc). Having a FRIENDSHIP with a member of the opposite sex is NOT cheating. If your partner is hassling you about a friendship then there's more wrong with the relationship than having social relationships outside of your private partnership.

well you have to look at a few things is your special other jealous of this person? do you think about that person more that your special some one? would you rather be with this person other than your special some one? my fiance had a "friendship" like that and it hurt him badly cuz she only wanted to be with that person not him, by the time they broke up she had gone as far as to sneak around on him just to go to lunch with this other guy.
but it mostly depends on your special someone

nope. but your question is more complicated than it looks. i mean platonic relationship to me means that at least one person is in love with someone else but doesn't have sex. it ain't cheatng but it can be heartbreaking.
