Since I had complications (cerclage), I had an internal exam about every two weeks after my 28th week. But for uncomplicated pregnancies the docs normally give internal exams starting at 37 weeks.

How often should I see my doctor during pregnancy?
Your doctor will give you a schedule of all the doctor's visits you should have while pregnant. As your pregnancy progresses, you'll see the doctor more often. Most experts suggest you see your doctor:

*about once each month for the first six months of pregnancy
*every two weeks for the seventh and eight month of pregnancy
*every week until the baby is born
If you are over 35 or your pregnancy is high risk because of health problems (like diabetes or high blood pressure), you'll probably see your doctor more often.

Well, I had the group B strep test done around 35 weeks, and was checked then, but not again until 40 weeks. Depends on the doctor, you can always ask to be checked as well, out of curiousity. Good luck!

I think you mean internal exams. THey dont do any more of those until you're full term and showing signs of labor. Otherwise they can give you an infection, or risk preterm labor by damaging the cervix.

Unless you have complications that require a check they will not mess around in there until you're full term.
