I'm taking my BD into the vet today. Do I need to bring a fecal sample with me? Or can the vet make the beardie defecate? My beardie is sick and hasn't ate, therefore, I haven't seen her poop lately. Help!

A fresh sample is always best but even dried faeces have diagnostic value, especially for coccidia. If those options are not available then your vet will likely take a swab of the cloaca for the testing.

If you dont know whats wrong with your pet and you are bringing him to a vet it is alway good to bring fecal matter even if they dont use it, you are ready and they can do the test while the vet is checking him out. If he isnt pooping, make sure he is eating if he is eating and no poop. He maybe compacting and only way to cure that is sugery.
i had a baby berdie and i spent $500 on the vet bill, so be aware of what your getting yourself into vets are expencive, but they do there job!

If you have not seen your BD defecate then you are unable to bring in a recent sample so your vet will understand that. Just take your buddy to the doc and they will take care of the rest, listen to their advice.

You need a fecal sample I think and all there is too it is that u can place ur beardie in shoulder level of water while monitoring it and be careful that it does'nt drink the water that it poops in. Or it woul imact its immune system. Also Their is a product called electrodyze(electrolytes)from exo terra that helps restore appeptite and strength in reptiles. Good luck!

Are you sure he/she is sick? depending on your location in the USA it may be brumating. My lizard has eaten 5 superworms and very little veggies in a 2 week span and she is constatnly sleeping in her hammock, sometimes not moving all day.. This is normal (I live in CT) when the season/daylight changes she changes too.
