The amount of money made by waiters and waitresses in the USA varies greatly depending on many factors.... the particular part of the country, the type of restaurant, the clientel, the amount of hours worked, the amount of tips received.... and the days of the week worked. Waiters who work the beginning of the week TYPICALLY make less tips then someone who works the end of the week including the weekend, basically because more people go out to eat on a weekend..... A waiter who works 4 days in a POPULAR restaurant with a little UPPER CRUST menu will make considerably more then someone who waits tables at a FRIENDLY'S... A person or group of people who are going to a finer restaurant and will be paying Well over $100 for their meals will usually pay more in tips... ALSO, if the wait service isn't any good, that too depends on what the waiter/waitress will make.... COMMONLY the hourly WAGE is way below minimum wage (anywhere from $2.50 - $5.25 per hour PLUS TIPS)...restaurants are not subject to the minimum wage law BECAUSE there are tips factored into the rate of pay. My brother works at a high end restaurant 4 nights a week (he was working 6 nights during the summer)..and brings home anywhere from $100 - $350 per NIGHT.... My SON works as a waiter on the weekends at another restaurant and brings home $50 - $150 a night... both are excellent waiters... but both work at different styles of restaurants....

There is no such visa available to you or anybody else. There are tens of thousands of American actors and college students working as waiters, just to make ends meet. Uncle Sam has no interest in letting foreigners come to the U.S. and compete with Americans for the few jobs that are available at a time when about 25 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed. You are among an estimated 2 billion people who would love to move to the U.S. and work there, but have no path available to them. Looks like you will have to kill yourself. The book "Final Exit" will give you inspiration on how to pull this off.

Typically, waiters in the US make minimum wage plus tips.
It really depends on the restaurant, because I have friends who just work for tips which can be good money.

A regular work week is 40 hours. If you get a job in a nice restaurant in a big city, you can get minimum wage ($6-8 per hour) and tips. Some restaurants don't care how many hours you work, because they can offer you overtime if someone calls in sick or on vacation.

Only people that work in offices/businesses generally work Monday - Friday. But in the restaurant/entertainment industries, it can be a 24/7 business. It just depends on the city and the restaurant you want to work in.

depends on what state you live in....in florida the minimum is $3.65 per hour plus tips with no min/max in # of hours for waitstaff....all others is $6.67 for state minimum wage...we generally dont work on holidays (christmas, thanksgiving, july 4th) or any federal government holidays (washingtons birthday, memorial day) but it is at the discretion of the employer (federal holidays the banks and post offices are closed so not a lot of business can be done) and lots of people work on saturday and sunday....i dont work saturday and sunday but because of the profession that i am in (accounting) i work saturdays during income tax season (january through april) and we do not close for any federal holidays during that time either....how much you pay for housing depends on demographics, that is, in new york or california you may pay more for housing and cost of living is generally higher but you also make more money as opposed to lets say again florida

It really depends.

If you are a waiter at Le Cirque in NYC you will probably make $100,000+ a yea.

If you are a waiter at Denny's in Odessa, Tx you will probably make $12,000 a year.
