Premarin is the made from the urine of pregant mares, thus the name. Mares are made to stand for months hooked up to a urine collector, this creates many problems for them such as edema, sleep deprivation, and sore legs and hooves from not being trimmed regularly. Their foals are slaughtered for horse meat, some are rescued but not many, and when these mares are done they are bred and get to do it all over again until they are slaughtered. Yes, check it out on HSUS or ASPCA, just thought you should know that if you take this med you are contributing to the death of horses.

If people don't know enough about what they are taking changes will never happen. There are alternatives but your DR might not be the one to tell you about them, be responsible for your own life and ethics. Menopause is not an illness.
