My laptop screen stays blank while the computer starts up, then the screen is corrupted (yellow and blue lines) for a few minutes before it loads properly. Does anyone have an idea what this could be? (It's a toshiba and just over a year old).

If it just started doing this, contact Toshiba. If your laptop is still under warranty they will fix it for free...it might be the LCD going bad or the inverter board maybe.

Don't scare me - I just got a Toshiba a couple of months ago. I strongly suggest you contact Toshiba - ASAP. Before you do, get out your serial number, order number, customer number, anything and everything you might need to identify yourself as a valid owner.
