It's fairly old but I'm sure someone has put "The Grapes of Wrath" on DVD by now- It's a study of a family on the move during the depression. Really good stuff. You may also try "Roger & Me" by Michael Moore. Both are ulitmately about the modern economy's exploitation of the worker. Never saw it, but heard good things about "Barbarians at the Gate"
