that sounds strange because the air conditioner uses the furnace and same duct work to distribute the cool air as it does the heat. try changing the filter. their could have been a dead animal in the duct work but you would thing that the heat would make it smell worse.

it must be the gathered airborne dirt and dust in the vents, ducts, or on the burners of the furnace, which would be very risky, consistent with possibility even foremost to a house hearth. Get the ducts and the unit professionally wiped sparkling, or your can attempt to hoover the unit while its off (consisting of the pilot mild if there is one). At evening you're able to scent it extra because of the fact there is way less distractions, or because of the fact the unit is warmer because of the fact at evening the temp drops.

How often are you changing the filter?
Try a really good filter, and change it at least every two months.
Spray filter with unscented Oust.
Vacuum out the air conditioner unit coils when you change the filter.
If no improvement, call repairman.

It could only help if you purchased a really good air purifier; even without your current situation...your indoor air was dirtier or less pure than your outside air.

-maybe your main tank or pump is in the basement,. most people put the main air pump tank in the garage or in a corner of your backyard outside,.make sure it is well covered from the rain and snow, pests, birds, etc.or it may be your filters and other components require oiling and changing.,
