Hi, would anyone know of a list or article that would show what world leaders, dignitaries, etc. have come to America to get health care, surgery or procedures? I recall a world leader coming over for care, but cant remember who it was, I think there were quite a few more too.

Thanks everyone for answers. But does anyone have a list from somewhere like an article or organization that is reputable? That is what I am hoping to find. Thanks.

American health CARE is the best in the world, but American health insurance coverage is down near the bottom.

Not only do leaders and other rich folks come here to get care, an increasing number of Americans are going abroad to get surgery. I've seen many stories of people who went to Thailand, let's say, had their surgery, stayed in a five-star hotel, sat on the beach, blah blah--all for less money than they would have spent on the surgery here in the U.S.

I would have thought it was the other was around - people leaving America to get healthcare.

The US is the ONLY country in the developed world that doesn't have a publicly funded health care system. There's a reason for this - other countries have worked out it costs less to have a publicly funded health care system, people don't bankrupt themselves if they get sick and everyone gets equal access to healthcare.

Seriously, if I lived in the US and I got sick I'd come over here to the UK (actually I'd probably go to Cuba - it's sunnier and the healthcare system is even better than ours!).

Many have come here and gone to the Mayo Clinic. My cousin lives less than 50 miles from there and just died of colon cancer, he couldn't afford health insurance so he had to die. He was a farmer, worked hard all his life and went to church every Sunday he was 53 years old. Even if you live here where the care is so great you need money.

The Shah of Iran, Mohammed Reza Palavi, came in 1979 for cancer treatment. It was pretty big news because Iran wanted him back to put him on trial. They didn't give him back, so that was one of the reasons for the Iranian hostage crisis.

Arm and Leg Health Care Coverage.....Americans must pay ungodly amounts of money from their hard earned checks to be covered by health care.....Why would someone want to come here and have to pay for coverage when they can get it in most countries for free?
