Just want general opinions from everybody on whether you believe that the people still run the country or do you believe Corporations have entirely corrupted or government.

All of the things you listed are made up of individuals.... so there is your answer. It is only the fault of the individuals in this country that don't get involved in things they disagree with. This is shown by a total lack of initiative to vote.

Its run by the people with the money to buy the politicians. This illustrious group is made up of Big Companies CEO's, like Ken Lay (dead), and Rupert Murdoch. The Politicians are elected with the help of the money from the lobbyists in Washington and have to cater to their electors will, after being elected (Big Oil, Military Industry). The 3 Trillion Taxes each year are as interest for the Millions, the electors (CEO's) made into their candidates carrier, distributed as subsidies to them. some money goes direct to a company, some indirect, via wars or as "support" for developing countries (with natural resources).
Since the whole thing is more a power trip, for the big guys, since the amount of money they have is meaningless (most of them are quit frugal), they have high ambitions to outdo each other in influence.

It is quite obvious to me that with illegal immigration out of control , and federal law not being enforced, that the citizens of this country have no say in the actions of the federal government (or the desires/intentions of corporate america ) If the feds put as much enforcement in illegal immigration as they do in medical marijuana distribution, ( passed by voters in the state of California ) the USA would be a better place...GIVE POWER BACK TO THE PEOPLE

Over the last 20 years or so,corporations have taken over.
It has always been about the money but lately they are getting so greedy that average people are paying for it with their lives.No time for family or hobbies,just work to pay more bills.

I don't know if it's necessarily corporations but the people have become too lazy to run thier own country. More people voted for that lame @ss show, American Idol, than voted for president. Pathetic right?
