When my friends ask me what is my favorite movie, I tell them Titanic. Then they all tell me its such a boring movie and its too long. I really like the movie and I think Leonardo DiCaprio is really cute.

I hated Titanic as well... but your reasoning is utterly ridiculous. 1) Rose wasn't on an iceberg. She was on some wooden debris from the ship... and while there may have been enough *area* to hold two people, there would never have been enough buoyancy. The combined weight of two people would have caused the debris to sink. This has actually been mathematically proven by people far too obsessed with the movie. 2) The danger wasn't recognized in time because a) it was dark, being the middle of the night and all, and b) court records from the Titanic incident show that the lookouts didn't have binoculars because of an error made back at port. It had nothing to do with them perving on Jack and Rose. Incidentally, the man on lookout that night later committed suicide.

No, but thanks for asking.

Update: In response to Cookie Cutter's oh-so "witty" response below: The question was: "Does anyone else like Titanic?" For my part the answer is "no". This is a matter of opinion. The fact that Titanic sold lots of tickets doesn't make it a good movie in my mind. Star Wars - The Phantom Menace sold a boatload of tickets as well, yet that one also was not a good movie. Independence Day and Spider Man 3 crack the list of the 100 highest grossing movies ever and they both sucked, too.

Ticket Sales do not equate to movie greatness, my friend. Oh, and all things being held equal, Gone With the Wind is still by FAR the most attended movie of all time with an estimated 202 Million tickets sold followed by Star Wars (178 Million and change), The Sound of Music (142 Million and change), E.T (141 Million and change) and The Ten Commandments (131 Million and change).

Titanic? Sixth place with 128 Million and change. It's easy to be the top grossing movie ever when the average ticket prices keep rising, but a dollar today is not worth what it was even a year ago, is it? Average ticket prices for Titanic were $4.59 (in 1997) compared to Gone with the Wind's average ticket price of $0.23 (in 1939 when it was released); damn that inflation, but you do have to adjust for it when speaking in terms of movies that came out in wholly different times and you want to crown the top grossing movie "ever".

Thus endeth the lesson.

The film "Titanic" is The "Giant-Titanic" movie in Hollywood Film History. Director James Cameron did his best job in this movie. By playing two Major roles in Titanic Leonardo De Caprio & Kate Winslet made fortune. Titanic is one of the all time popular movie in the history of cinema. Perhaps it is also one the most-watched film.

However, TITANIC is a Legend film ever. Those who say it's a boring film, they really don't have any idea about movies.

Thanks for asking.

Great movie!!!

Every time I watch the movie, I always wish the ending would be a lot different, but of course, it's not. An awesome ship that was lost long before it should have been.

I think it's a great movie! I wouldn't say it's my favorite ever, but at least in the top 20. It's touching and funny and just wonderful.

I must admit tho, I have made the attempt to count how many times they said "Jack" and "Rose". I usually lose count around 75. :)

If you can get past the historical flaws and just accept it for a nice story on a boat that sank, it's not bad.

But as a person who likes to read his history, have a family history link to that ship, I didn't like it.

I remember watching that movie when I was like 10. That night I was like "Brooke can I sleep with you tonight?" The part when everybody froze and drowned in the water scared me. I like it now, I watch it whenever they show it on t.v. Although I do wish I own a copy.
