... they can't get treatment quickly enough.

Do you support that kind of healthcare for your moms, wives, sisters, and daughters?

Very bad argument. By comparison, the US has a higher rate of incidence, but lower mortality than the Uk, true. But Sweden (also socialized) has lower incidence AND lower mortality than the US (as does Austria, India, Japan and China).

Be very careful when using statistics (especially with such narrow focus) to prove a point--it'll backfire on you.

Far too many US citizens die from gunshot wounds under Americas system of waiting a few days to see if you're insane if you wish to purchase some kind of machine gun (surely the desire to have one would automatically point out that you're some sort of nutbag?)

But to answer you're question that isn't the case. Breast cancer (along with many others) is a priority treatment case and free screenings are available on the NHS with immediate treatment to follow. Should the patient have any concerns they are absolutely entitled to pay for their care.
Don't assume that private healthcare is outlawed in the UK you dimwit.

Do you have any solid research to back this up? I don't think our death rate from breast cancer is any different than other developed nations.

At least people don't die from a broken leg under socialized medicine. (ie - we ALL get medical care and its priorized based on the need)

Yes there are long waits for some procedures but its not nearly as bad as people think. People love to complain but the reality is that we get good medical care here.

Let me tell you a story about Canada's socialized medicine. I sprained my knee while stepping out of a swimming pool on a Saturday and my knee 'locked up' because of a piece of cartilage that got stuck. I walked into a clinic (OK I crutched into a clinic) the next day on a SUNDAY! without an appointment and saw a doctor who referred me to a specialist. I saw the specialist on the Monday. He scheduled surgery for the Tuesday and I had a successful operation.

All without paying a dime - how good is that!

(OK OK I do pay high taxes but I do so gladly)

Right now many American woman have no health care, so anything would be better then nothing. Surely the greatest country in the world could take those health plans and imporove them so there is not such a long wait time.

'Far too many'? What do you consider the correct amount? Surely one is too much!
I am already supporting this treatment through my taxes. Most of the money is wasted in administration, as we all know.
Are you asking if national medical budgets should be diverted to this problem, at the cost of reducing other treatment budgets?
I look after my own family with my own money (what's left of it), thanks very much, because the NHS in UK is rubbish. Personally, I'd privatise the whole giant thing but I don't want to sound controversial on Y Q&A.

Here in the land of the free when you have no insurance and no money, you get no treatment. Too bad we don't track how many of those people die each year.

Evidence to support you claim is really necessary here. How many is far to many? What were the circumstances of their cases.

To many factors to consider here. Share your sources with us.

Yeah, but, gosh, it's free. It will be interesting to see how they justify or ignore this away.
