it depends on when you ovulated. sperm can live in the body for up to 5 days. so if you had sex one day and ovulated four days later it is absolutely possible for you to get pregnant from that previous encounter. then the fertilized egg would take about 80 hours to implant into the uterus which many people consider to be "actually pregnant" because many times a fertilized egg will not implant but will just exit the womb and a period will start and nobody will ever know of the egg.
BUT many healthcare providers just say that your conception date is the first day of your last period because they have no way of knowing when you ovulated but if you know when you had a period that is a solid date for them to work with. so when you are "a week pregnant" you actually aren't pregnant at all.

If you conceived, that means that you had sex either 24 hours before the day of ovulation, or the day of ovulation, or a few hours after ovulation. Too long before ovulation, and the sperm die before there is an egg available, too long after ovulation and the egg becomes unviable and the sperm can't fertilize it.
In short, you would have had to had sex very very close to the day of conception, within a few hours.

You can conceive the very second you start having sex or an hour later it depends on how long it takes for the sperm to break the eggs surface.

Like the first responder said, sperm can live up to like 5-7 days before the die.
Go to pregnancy.org and make a account to get like a calender to see what has happened and when your last peroid happened and how long your cycle is and any other questions you have. It can tell you a better close date to when you concieved from all that information plus your due date. I liked this website for that reason and it had a day by day of what your body is going through and an answer and question section.
Best of luck to you!!

It could be immediately after intercourse when sperm met egg, or several days after that. Usually within a 3 day period of the time you have intercourse. Say you had sex the day before you ovulated but still had sperm inside of you the next day when you ovulated..You could get pregnant that day even if you didn't have intercourse that day. Hope this helps.

it takes about 10 hours for the sperm to meet the egg, and about 6-10 days after having sex for the embryo to implant

conception occurs when the sperm and ovum hook up. this usually occurs about the same time you have intercourse, but i've heard sperm can swim around for almost 5 days; so, yeah, within 2 or 3 days of intercourse, i would guess. it also depends on when you're ovulating.
