There is absolutely no harm in believing what you do because it is only helping you. Your uncle may be a minister but he is still not an authority over matters of heart or soul. Nobody can say with full authority what happens when we pass away. So I support your theory whole-heartedly because I was once in your situation and this belief kept me sane. It is as good as any. When you ask others you will get only opinions which will not help you much. THE HEART KNOWS THE BEST...

I don't have 'opinions' about other peoples 'beliefs' unless they try to foist their 'beliefs' onto me in an attempt to control my thoughts and/or behavior.
If you believe that your B/F is there, keeping an eye on you, and the thought makes you feel better, then hold on to it.
Everyone has a relationship with the Spirit World that is intensly deep and personal, and -nobody- has the right to tell you what to believe, think, or feel. There may be laws that inhibit some of the actions that you might want to take as a -result- of your thoughts, beliefs, or feelings, but they're still yours. Don't -ever- let anybody tell you otherwise, or tell you that you're wrong for having them.

I believe there is more to a person than what meets the eye. I believe there is something that continues its existance beyond death, call it spirit or soul.
I know he can hear you and see you, and will always be able to do so.
When gramps died, my sister could feel his presence around the house even though he hadn't been around us for years. One day, my sis woke up feeling his presence and started talking to him, letting him know that everything was alright, that we didn't resent him being away and stuff. It seems that was all he needed from us, because the feeling of him being around faded after that.
I know losing someone is difficult, mostly in the way you mention in happened. My best wishes for you.

It is normal for you to feel this way . Even as an atheist , when my dog died I felt as though he were in the spiritual realm watching over me as I played a slot machine in Atlantic City . I am not kidding ! ! It is the problem we have with letting go a loved one that makes us want to believe things like that .
It is the memory of your loved one and his caring for you that makes you feel watched over . The memory of his advice and help . Remembering his caring and advice can help you in many situations . For example " Don't walk down that streeet at night ." But the memory WON'T help you if you meet up with a rapist on that same street .
There is absolutely no evidence ( other than a few haunted house tourist places ) that people continue to exist in any way , shape or form ( unless they donated body parts ) after they are dead . Hornor your dead boyfriend's memory by listening to his good advice and taking care of yourself .

Of course he is watching over you! Even if people have different views on the subject, that still does not give yourself the right to put your beliefs on the back burner. Some times I don't even know how I get through some things without the protection of my deceases family and friends and all the angels around!
Sorry to hear about your loss--with sympathy.

I once had a dream right after my grandma died that she was stuck in a cubicle with four walls. I called to her every second, but I still couldn't not see her. Right before I woke up I remember her saying though the cubicle that even though I may not be able to see her, she will still always be there and will always listen to me and talk to me though my heart. I really do believe that my grandmother sent that message and that she is with me always. It is very comforting to know. I do believe that your boyfriend can hear you and see you.

Yes I do...He is with you everyday in your heart and your memories. The only people who can answer this question with a solid yes or no are the dead. So until I get their and find out for myself I am going to keep faith that that I have a lot of guardian angels watching over me.
