Apple seeds need to be "stratified" in order to germinate. It's just a fancy word that means they need to experience the cold of winter. One way to do this is to plant the seeds outside and let nature do its thing. The other option is to keep them moist in the refrigerator for a couple months and then plant it inside until the weather warms in spring. RScott

I too have felt like you... I even put several in the freezer to germinate them... most need that.. the problem is that if its a store bought produce section cut out apple seed, you'll need to know the right kind to plant another tree to pollinate that one so that you can get apples later down the road... I recently went to my local plant nursery and bought two that were in five gallon buckets(they were about 5 feet tall (that pollinate each other... the nursery associates explained this to me)... because the plant nursery did all the work, I am excited because now I don't have to wait 5 or 6 years or more to see... I just put them in the ground and I am told I might even get fruit next year!!!! They were only twenty bucks a piece, they weren't that heavy at all, they fit easily into my car and it only to a few to plant them and they are doing well. Good luck.

Start them indoors, then plant out in the spring. Put seeds on a wet paper towel, in a zip type clear plastic bag, on a south window sill. Watch for sprouts, transplant to pot. Enjoy!

Start them from seedlings in your home. Plant them in the spring.
