Does that take Bush/ Iraq off the table as a compaign issue in 2008?
Hillary, Obama, Edwards, all would NOT make that promise.
Or does it open the door for someone that WILL pull them out?
Also, how will the far far left respond to this?

Thank You.

Typical Democratic rhetoric. Last year the Dems campaigned that if elected and if they gained control of Congress they would withdraw all the troops and end American occupation in Iraq. They said all of this without having an exit strategy and got the gullible Americans to believe them (oh, the power of the left wing media) and got themselves control of Congress. Since then they have done NOTHING. They haven't even passed any meaningful legislation since taking over Congress. Talk about a country going backwards.

Wake up America! The left are great at complaining and badmouthing the President just to accomplish their agenda; but they have yet to show that they have any solution whatsoever to back up their rants.

Show me a Democrat that has the guts to have a plan or solution and present it to the American People and I will show you politician that will be shunned by his/her own party (i.e. Joe Lieberman).

The Dems have no one that will come forward and say Pres. Bush is doing what we would do. Sorry to say we will have a Republican President after the next election. Thank God!

Obama said he would begin troop withdrawel immediately as President. He also said this is a long a very dangerous process, so he cannot promise it would be done at a certain time. His answer was based on what military generals say about withdrawing troops.

What's the "far far left" and who cares? Most people are moderates. Don't moderates mean anything?

I think everyone is coming to the conclusion that pulling all the troops out too early would be a bad idea . Its really only the media that makes this opinion spread like wild fire and idiots. Finish what we started , or never be trusted again by any other country .

The way to get the popular vote is to promise an end to Iraq.

But even the Dems realize that Iran will have no problem filling the void we would leave.

no, Iraq is and must be a campaign issue in the next election.

we are at War - so of course the war and the way it is run must be an issue (as always) during the next election.

Please.

Do you want people making simple promises about complicated situations?

You are trying to make people over-simplify and this situation is anything but simple. Its this sort of over-simplification that leads to partisan sound-bites.

It belittles the conversation.

However, I think we're all coming to one agreement: It was incredibly stupid, arrogant and corrupt to go there to begin with.

If you don't understand and agree with that, it certainly does destroy your credibility.

agreed the dems are just awful.

however the alternative has simply become UNTHINKABLE.

i may never vote republican ever again.

such is the price i think the repubs should pay for rubber stamping the bush admin and not doing their job of oversight.
