I have read so many of your answers and have had to swallow the lumps in my throat. But did you mean this or did you mean a painting that I remember so well from my childhood. After I read your question I put it into Google search and here is their answer:-

This famous nineteenth century painting by W. F. Yeames, shows a Royalist family who have been captured by the enemy. The boy is being questioned about the whereabouts of his father by a panel of Parliamentarians.

Although the picture was not painted until the nineteenth century it is a fairly valuable Secondary source about the Civil War.

But thank you for your question because now I can see the picture that was always on Grannies wall alongside The Boyhood of Raleigh and have happy childhood memories.
I am a 75 year young lady..

I do have to say that reading everyone answers was a bit shocking. It really makes me want to be sure to visit with my family more often before I don't get the chance to any more. If I'm lucky I see him once a month. Last time I saw him he came to my town to take me to dinner to celebrate something successful I did about 3 weeks ago.

When I looked in the mirror this morning.

There's no doubt in my mind that whether I like it or not, he's been a major influence on who and what I am. What he was like toward me as a child, his values, and the experiences he presented me with have and always will shape my personality and attitude toward life, work, and other people. His good points and bad points alike shaped me.

I see him every day, even though he lives thousands of miles away. It's inescapable.

Fortunately for me, I'm happy with that.
