i installed it from a memory stick, and i really don't want to go into the BIOS for obvious reasons, any help?

It should automatically enable (in most BIOS's anyway). If it's not outputting to the new card, you will probably need to go into the BIOS and edit the Primary Display setting to reflect your new card's location. Don't worry, if you feel that you changed something you should not have, just exit and don't save the changes. If you do save the changes, just be sure that you didn't change anything else.

If you have onboard graphics, going to the bios and switching your primary is probably your only option.

If you can boot the computer with the on board video from your motherboard just install the drivers.
