I know that they are kept seperatly but are averages or wins and all that included in career numbers?

No, there is a separate section for career playoff stats.

Brett said it right. So just think had the postseason stats count for some of the greats and some of the current guys. It is a totally new section of stats. Some of the best players have stunk in the postseason and some of the least known role players have become October heroes.
