I doubt it but that question is funny as hell.

Actually, the artists who painted in the caves were those who got kicked out of "Caveman College of the Arts", but still wanted to show their stuff. So, they moved their galleries to caves, and had wonderful evening shows that attracted all of the high society cave people. They weren't really worried about nuclear attack, because they had a pact with the aliens who came down and created Stonehenge that provided a sort of "Star Wars" defense shield like the one the US is trying to build.

Indeed.......The reason one would paint in a cave is the same reason one would live in a cave....Other shelter was not around.

Caves may have been used as religious places, so inhabitants considered them sacred, and their drawings show the wish for good fortune in hunting or battle.

I have no idea what the cavemen knew because they didn't invent writing to let me in on their secrets....

Yes, yes they did. They wanted to protect their art from the nuclear blast so that the people could still enjoy their work, wait, the people are not in the caves, so who would be there to enjoy the art?

Geeezzzzz....... And I thought some of the questions asked about Relativity in the physics forum were weird........ ☺

Actually..... I believe the reason that cave persons (I'm trying to be PC and not sound sexist) drew pictures of animals and hunting scenes on cave walls is because they were trying to send a message across time to their descendants (us) that simple, natural foods were the best. When I see a picture of a hunting scene, it arouses in me an emotion that says, "Stay away from those Chicken McFµckits." ☺

Don't be soft.

They painted in caves so the Martians couldn't see them with their giant telescope.
