Or did he merely want to reform JUDAISM? Hmmm, my reading indicates the latter.
That would mean churches and their associated priests have been lying, superstitious and ignorant scoundrels for hundreds of years. You call that moral and honorable?

You are correct in that Jesus never intended to create Christianity. The Jews believe a Messiah will come and rescue them. Traditional Jews believe Jesus was only a prophet, whereas Christians believe he was the Messiah.

I don't know where you drag up this lying superstitious ignorant scoundrel garbage from. Seeing as how there's 100s of religions in the world, all of them encouraging good morals, yes I would call that good and honorable.

Clearly, Jesus was bringing a new message from God. While he didn't reject the scriptures, he DID reject the "official" practitioners of the Jewish "religion." So, I would say that he DID intend to establish a new way of coming to God. If you want to call that a religion, then your reading has failed you. But since you apparently approached your study with the pre-conclusion expressed in your fourth sentence, your final statement is disingenuous at best.

Actually Jesus came to fulfill the law and what the prophets had spoken about. The need for a high priest was done away with when Jesus came because he was the ultimate high priest and mediator between God and man. He preached the forgiveness of sins for those who professed his name. His blood is the sacrificial blood needed for the forgiveness of sins now instead of a lamb's blood.

No, he had no intention of doing that. His followers were considered to be just another jewish sect until St Paul came along and invented Christianity.

Mmmm, seems your reading has not been that extensive. He was rejected by most Jews and before he ascended he gave the Great Commission - to go to ALL THE World and preach the gospel, not just to the Jews. Thanks for showing your ignorance.

Paul was doing what God told him to. Simple as that. He was recruiting non Jewish people to the idea that Christ died on the cross for everyone's sins.

If Jesus was really as good and loving as he's cracked up to be, he would want nothing to do with Christianity.
