I think it is, and I'll tell you why. Myspace has become something that caters to the lowest common denominator. There is porn and sleaze and questionable language and photos everywhere. There are ads and viruses and so many different websites offering to "pimp" your myspace, that it's out of control. How many times have you seen comments that were not sent by the person they are posted from, spam, etc.
And then there is facebook - crisp and clean and no caffeine. It seems safer, it lets you know which friends you have in common, it lets you follow a conversation between two people without having to scroll through pages of replies. Lots of older people and kids have found myspace, but facebook is networked mainly for college and high school students.

I have one on both of them. And in my opinion Myspace is so much better then Facebook. Myspace gives you alot more control of what you do and how your profile looks. Facebook just tries to add these weird applications that you have to do all this retarded stuff to get. Facebook is not the new myspace.

I like both, but my some of my friends at school have ditched Myspace for Facebook because it looks more professional and they think it's better. I like Myspace because I can keep up with my favorite bands, can't do that on Facebook. I like Facebook because of the Apps and no spam.

I don't even really know how to use Facebook and I don't log onto my Myspace that often. My sisters, however, like Myspace more than Facebook.

AFAIK, it might as well be. After several years, the few acquaintances I'm having trouble finding on MySpace, found me easily on FaceBook. Even friends from High school and college found me pretty quickly on FaceBook, some of them aren't known to spend alot of time on these type of OL social sites while others predominantly stick with Xanga
IMO, FaceBook seems more polished and classy compared to MySpace, dare I say almost like comparing an Apple desktop to some bland, but equally functional Dell "black box" or "beige box". Mind u, MySpace is also functional and a place to meet people, but from it's origins as a place for music bands to have a space online, they seemed to attract quite the weirdos since then. Furthermore, I've been meeting all types of acquaintances on FaceBook. Friends, college classmates, high school classmates, childhood friends, and even former co-workers.
I haven't done deep usage of FaceBook, but being very general, it appears to be a cross of LinkedIn and Myspace/Xanga. I do like how FaceBook gives u the option to indicate how u knew a person who gives you an invite to be on your list and vice versa.

Facebook has become way better than Myspace... Or worse whichever way you want to look at it, Facebook now has so many different programs that you can add to your profile its insane, easy way to keep in touch with friends and to burn 1 to 2 hours away. The only thing Facebook is missing is being able to put pictures in the background... but hey it lets you draw graffiti on other users profiles... how great is that?
