i want to play my wii online , how for does the wi fi connection work ?

im looking to playing my wii online, but unsure how far the connection would work? would i only be able to play people in my area? nation wide? or world wide?
also is there a site where you can register to play online?
so i can find people that have the same gaes as me??

Hi Paul

Once you've got your wifi sorted dependent on the game your playing will depend on who'll you play.

I play Mario Strikers online and the online games will match you up with people in Europe only......unless you know someone further a field with the same game who has a modified Wii and then you'll be able to play them, I have played against someone in Ecuador and there was hardly any lag.

Madden NFL'08 was released last month and offers global gameplay with players from everywhere but numerous people have commented on lagging issues.

FIFA '08 is released tomorrow (Fri 28Sept) here in Europe and sounds promising.

To play Strikers against friends you'll both have to swap friend codes. else you can play random matches.

1) you can play people internationally.
2) There is not an "official" site where you register to play online. Depending on the game, you can either find anonymous matches or play with people with whom you've exchanged friend codes.
Try searching the internet for forums where people exchange codes if you're looking for more people to add.

The wii can do many online features you have many online channels and even surfing and buying games online.
if your looking to play with a friend or someone from the internet it depends what is your wii region.
example :
Mario strikers USA will get you to play with online USA players or ppl who have the USA WII CONSOLE.
Mario strikers EUROPE will get you to play with online europe players or ppl who have the EUROPE WII CONSOLE.
