We had an early freeze the other morning. All my pumpkin vines wilted and died. If I cut the green pumpkins will they turn orange in time?

Since they have green pumpkins I guess you need to know what kind you have.
The vines are you sure they died? Or just got some frost or freeze damage.?
I'd give it a couple of weeks ir so to see what happens.

Q. My grandmother made pies with a green-striped, long-necked pumpkin. Is this variety still available?

A. Yes. The variety is Green-Striped Cushaw. Because it has a unique texture, some cooks prefer it for custards and pies.
