Seriously, don’t just give opinions. What makes you think anyone running will do anything better or care more about anyone? All the Bush bashing, yet what will change next election other than the name that gets used?

There are a couple candidates that I think would be similar to Bush. (Hillary and Rudy), Just as I view them being in politics as a desire for power and not as a service.

I see other candidates who seem to have gotten into politics to serve and to improve the community, country and world. What's interesting is these are the same candidates I seem to be able to trust. Obama, McCain, Kucinich, Biden, etc.

I think our country's political system is a joke. We limit ourselves to two parties, in a system that was set up to have unlimited choices. I agree that we have the choice of the lesser of two evils, in virtually every election, and that special interest groups and large corporations buy our politicians.

Having said that, I think Bush represents everything that is evil about politicians. (Yes, I know. That's an opinion.)

Here's why:

1) Bush suspended the Constitution. The Patriot Act was a HUGE step backwards. Here's some other ways that he gets around the law.

http://www.truthout.org/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi/59/19450

These actions are unprecedented for a President. However, they aren't permanent. The Patriot Act will expire (or so I've heard...) and the next President can resume enforcing the laws that Congress passes.

2) Terrorism has SKYROCKETED since Bush has been in office.

The above is a link to a terrorist database. Take a look at the acts of terrorism in the Middle East since Bush took office. Incredible. It's exponentially larger than ever before. He has stirred up a hornet's nest. We need someone with a bit more diplomacy (i.e., someone that works WITH the U.N.).

3) Bush picked a fight.

http://www.regressiveantidote.net/Articles/What_Every_American_Should_Know_About_Iraq.html

He used to refer to Sadaam as 'the guy that tried to kill my dad'. Iraq was personal for him. Our next president will not be starting a war over a vendetta.

4) Big Oil. The oil companies have helped forge our foriegn policy over the last 6 years.

http://www.cronus.com/oil/

Now, every politician caves into special interests. However, Bush used billions of dollars in tax payers money to finance an invasion...and then let his cronies in the oil bussiness reap the rewards.

5) Previous experiance. Bush has a shady history at best. I think the reason he did so well is because he seems like a 'real Texas' version of his dad. However, he was woefully underqualified to run our country.

6) National Debt. To many people, the national debt is just a pie in the sky number that doesn't mean anything. In reality, it's like have an outstanding balance on your credit card. If you just keep piling on the debt, eventually, you will go bankrupt. Clinton was the only president to actually reduce the national debt. Bush has caused the biggest spike in history.

Now...I know it looks like I'm 'Bush bashing'. But...this guy statistically leads some very dismal categories.

How could anyone else be any worse? The odds are good that the next president will fix one or more of these problems. That will be an improvement.

The Iraq war is one example. That war did not have to happen. It was a war of choice. A bad choice by Bush. There were many other options. Any other candidate would have taken a different route in that situation.

In all honesty I think it's hard for any candidate to be any worse than Bush. Bush is quite simply, as bad as it gets.

Anyone from both sides will recognize the shades of grey in life and in all the decisions they make. Bush is nothing but an obstinate extremist who is bringing this country down with him.

Bush plans to veto the SCHIP bill that will provide medical insurance to the children of the working poor. The program is entirely paid for by tobacco taxes.

It has broad bi-partisan support.

His reason for the intended veto is that he is philosophically opposed to government supplying any medical insurance - yet he is the one that went for the Senior drug benefit that is entirely unaffordable.

Seniors vote, children don't.

Enough said about caring for people

I agree that the war was a bad choice when it didn't even have to happen. Everyone out there who know and care about someone who is in the war will agree. Why sacrifice fathers, brothers, husbands, etc. when it's not necessary.

Bush was never really in charge. Cheney was. And the combination of deceit and mediocre intelligence must never be repeated.

Just having a candidate who can string together a coherent sentence and can think logically is a marked improvement over what we currently have.

what makes me think that?

basic probability and statistics.

bush has been very weark at making important decisions, has handed out critical jobs to political hacks and has had more critical mistakes made under his tenure than any president before him.

odds are that just about anyone WILL be better.
