Monitors do not have device drivers. In windows they have an INF file that just tells Windows what, roughly the monitor can do. Seeing that this information is also in the plug-and-play area of the monitor but in more detail it is actually better to use the plug-and-play monitor drivers than a monitor specific INF file.

The same applies to Linux. What you need to do is actually update your video drivers from the fairly generic drivers to the ones that actually utilize the features in your chipset.

try using the restricted driver manager to get the driver for your chipset.

System->Administration->Restricted Drivers Manager
