There is natural glass formed in volcanoes called obsidian.

Lightning into sand can fuse into glass

Yes, Obsidian (microcrystaline basalt etc) is called volcanic glass but it's not the same as window glass which is made up of Silicon Dioxide.

Something more approximate to window glass is formed in lightning strikes but also during meteorite impacts.

The small glass balls ejected during a meteorite impact into Silica rich rocks (sandstones) travel further the smaller they are allowing geologists to use the relative size of the grains to home in on the site of the impact and also to calibrate exactly where in geological time the impact took place.

The other answer is that Human activity is not "un natural" because humans are on earth naturally and any activities we perform cannot be un natural by extension.

from wikipedia

"Obsidian is a type of naturally-occurring glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock. It is produced when felsic lava erupted from a volcano cools rapidly through the glass transition temperature and freezes without sufficient time for crystal growth. Obsidian is commonly found within the margins of rhyolitic lava flows known as obsidian flows, where cooling of the lava is rapid. Because of the lack of crystal structure, obsidian blade edges can reach almost molecular thinness, leading to its ancient use as projectile points, and its modern use as surgical scalpel blades."

By the time of the neolithic the value of obsidian had been recognized and trade routes were set up covering large distances. Such trade routes existed in both the old world and the americas.

Glass is often made by nothing more than natural elements.

Obsidian is volcanic glass and can be found in the USA in California with a composition of 75SiO2-13.5Al2O3-1.6Feo/Fe2O3-...

Fulgarites are glass created from lightning strikes.
Tektites are made at the bottom of the ocean (at hot spots)
Diapletic glass is made from the heat of meteor impacts

Have you seen Sweet Home Alabama, when lightening stikes near the beach on beach sand if you dig it up you'll find the sand crystalized which is what glass is made out of...sand.

Also found on sandy beaches were lightning has struck...makes a sand covered glass tube.

The teacher is right.

When lightning stikes sand and forms glass it is called "lechatelierite"
