Good Imaginative question. I thought it had to do with
dancing, but it's an expression one doesn't hear up north.
I didn't make the connection for sure until seeing, "Boot
Scootin Boogie". Then it clicked.. Dead giveaway!
To answer the question tho, I haven't been dancing in well
over 20 years. Hubby said it made him sweat. And he didn't
like that anymore. Well I knew 'me courtin days were over'
LOL. Funny thing is, he was a great dancer, and that was my
first big attraction to him right away. I had to watch from the
sidelines after that. A friend of mine, had the same situation
with her husband. He was a dancing fool til after they married.
And he told her not long ago, that dancing was for courting.
And now he doesn't care to do it anymore. What old fuddy
duddies we married. :(

Don't I wish! I spent my life dancing. But then I developed tendonitis in my left knee about 7 or 8 years ago. I'm afraid there is no more scooting any boots for this lassie.

I enlist the children and grandchildren in the housework and we boogy down to funky town. They all know the swim and the little ones hold their nose and go down for the count. We do seriously shake a leg but I most enjoy doing the funny dances. One of my granddaughters came home from school saying a teacher she didn't like had won her heart because she does the King Tut just like me. All the kids from almost 40 to 4 say if your tied my arms down by my side I couldn't move. They wonder what all my arm flapping is about.

Yes, I do. I was playing "maid ", and cleaning house with the door open and dancing to music like a fool, before I realized my neighbor was standing there. I am sure he thought I lost my mind, LOL Oh welllllll...........
