Well I wouldn't worry too much alot of children don't give up the bottle completely till even age two. Some older but that's not recommended. I would give him a bottle but give him a sippy cup too. Once he realizes that there's tasty juice in the cup he may want to switch. Never put the juice in a bottle! that will only keep them attached longer. Leave the cup out so he always has that option to go for a drink. He'll get the hang of it. My doctor also recommend teaching them to use the kind with a straw to suck. It helps them with their mouth motor skills and that leads to better language performance.
I hope this helps, Good Luck!

I wouldnt worry to much about it. She is only 7 months old. Most babies arent using a sippy cup until after a yr. Just keep doing what your doing. Slowy incorprate the sippy cup into her lif style and eventually she will begin to use it more. She's had the bottle allot longer then the sippy cup, so it will take some time for her to see the sippy cup as a good thing.:)

There is no need to worry. It's great you've started introducing her to the sippy cup. As a mother of four, if by the time she reaches 10 months and still refuses to touch the sippy cup then worry about attachment. However, try, try again. The more she sees it, the better. Keep offering it to her (mainly with juice). Eventually she'll realize what its for. I had 2 children off of the bottle by 11 months and one on it till about 15 months (only at bed of course with me holding her) and I plan on introducing the cup to my four month old at around 6-8 months and hope for a bottleless baby by a year. Good Luck and remember keep trying!

My pediatrician said that baby's should be using a sippy cup around 1 year old. If you want to transition baby to a sippy now, try using a sippy cup by the brand called Nuby. I find them at Walmart, Target, etc. The spout is made of soft material similar to a bottle nipple. It may be a lot easier for her to switch with this type of spout.

Every baby is different, but it is best to start introducing a cup to her around the time she begins to drink juice. The most difficult part about giving a infant a cup is choosing the right cup. I started giving my son a cup when he was 5 months. I have tried several different cups. The cup he seems to like the most was a Nuby cup I got from Walmart. It was really cheap and it is similar to the nipple of a wide mouth bottle. The other more expensive cups I got for him he just chewed on them. I think it was because the spout was to thin. Your daughter will get the hang of it just keep trying to give her a cup.She will eventually want her formula from a cup. Keep at it.

Walmart has some sippies with a longer and more flexible spout. Found this was an easy way to transition. Used those sippies for milk and other hard spouted ones for juice.

your baby is only 7 months old, i wouldnt be trying to ween her off the bottle yet and force a sippy on her. i would start taking bottle away after a year old, but definatly have it gone by 2 years. I think you are jumping the gun a little here, sorry, my opinion
